First of all, I have to apologize for not posting on the blog much lately. Summer seems to be a busy time and I thought that I would sit down on this Sunday morning and fill you in.
Tucker and I would like to thank the National Junior Shorthorn Association for asking us to help judge the Team Sales contest at the National Junior Shorthorn Show in DesMoines recently. Also thanks to our other judge Jennifer Bremer. Farm Boys also served breakfast burritos on Thursday morning at the show. We had a great time and enjoyed it very much.
THE SHOWMAN'S CHOICE SALE is scheduled for September 15th this year and you will again be able to view and bid online at www.showstockplanet.com The calves are weaned, on feed and we are working on the breaking process. I had the opportunity to look through the calves that Rieck and Lents are bringing to the sale and it looks like we will have a really good set to offer. All the calves will be available for viewing at our farm starting on Labor Day weekend.
As you page through the August issues of the show publications, you will see a lot of ads with the MITTAG DESIGN logo, Tucker has been very busy getting ads done and we want to Thank all the customers who have used MITTAG DESIGN to prepare your ads, logos, websites and mailers.
As usual, I have a very busy July County Fair judging schedule. Starting Thursday, I judge 5 shows in the next 10 days and the calendar is packed up to State Fair. I have a real nice variety of Cattle, Lamb and Hog shows and always look forward to working with the kids!
We will again be taking feeder calves to the Iowa State Fair Feeder Calf Show. The kids have asked that I cut back on the number of calves we take this year, but looking at the calves that won't be easy without leaving some really good ones home.
